Oxford has some delightful narrow streets. Some too narrow for cars, making an excellent place to walk.

Queens Lane. New college on left, Queens college on Right, St Edmund hall straight ahead.

From: Oxfordshire.gov archives. This is High Street in the Nineteenth Century. Note: absence of cars and tram tracks in the middle of the road. A lady looks well dressed for cycling and seems quite happy cycling on ‘wrong’ side of road!
