fritillary

Oxford has many wildlife meadows which have managed to escape the property developer and modern chemical farming.

There are still places around oxford where you can find traditional meadows with a range of wildflowers like this delightful Fritillary. (This photo was taken from Oxford Botanic Gardens)

Some of the best meadows in Oxford include:

  • Hinksey – Between Abingdon Road and the River, there are some meadows carefully managed
  • Oxford University Parks. The other side of the River to the university parks are some meadows next to Marston
  • Port Meadow
